For some reason, I just loved it. There was a sense of optimism and joy in the 1920s.
A capitalist economy goes through cycles, and 2000 was the peak in the latest cycle, which had lots of similarities to the 1960s and the 1920s. Now we're somewhere in this sort of troublesome period like the 1970s.
What is happening is a little like what happened in the 1920s, the period where demand growth was quite strong but supply growth was even faster. You had new technology then, it was electric power. Now its computing power.
Just as outlawing alcohol did not work in the 1920s, current attempts to prohibit online gambling will not work, either.
